We feel it is your right and responsibility to become actively involved with identifying and understanding your oral health problems.
Your initial visit will include the following steps:
After reviewing your x-rays and the information gathered from your clinical dental examination, the doctor will then discuss his/her findings with you and explain your treatment options. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have regarding your proposed treatment. If a dental prophylaxis (cleaning appointment) has been scheduled for your initial visit, it will be done at this time. If not, and a dental prophylaxis has been recommended by the doctor, one will be scheduled for you at a time convenient to you.
Good oral health depends upon good oral hygiene habits, proper nutrition, professional dental examinations and regular dental hygiene appointments.
One of the most important aspects of the dental hygiene appointment is the periodontal screening to detect the presence of any periodontal disease (pyorrhea). Periodontal disease, in its earliest stages, is painless and must be detected by a dental healthcare professional. Also, by following this program, we can detect small problems before they become larger problems. These appointments also help extend the life of your fillings and keep you informed of the state of your oral health.
Together we can determine the time interval between preventive recall visits.
For New Patients: If you are a new patient we can expedite your first visit if you bring these forms filled out to your first appointment.
For Current Patients: We need to have these forms yearly in order to keep our records current.
